Veritas Sequitur Estate Syrah

2022 Veritas Sequitur Estate Syrah

Winemaker’s Notes

100% Syrah, Naravane Vineyard, Rocks District, Walla Walla AVA

The 2022 Veritas Sequitur is near-perfect wine that beautifully showcases the captivating and alluring qualities that a world-class Syrah can deliver. This wine is slightly less opulent than its predecessor, but it is equally compelling. It has a dense, dark purple color with a compelling bouquet of blackberry, white pepper, Asian spices, garrigue, bacon fat, black olive, stony minerality, and forest floor. It is a medium-plus bodied wine with very high flavor density. The palate is complex and intense: blackberry, bacon fat, truffle, aged cigar tobacco, white pepper, garrigue, black olive, Asian spices, dark chocolate, and leather. The impeccably long finish resolves beautifully with savory notes of truffle, bacon fat, white pepper, and stony minerality. The wine shows exquisite balance and incredible flavor purity. This wine will continue to improve for the next 10-12 years and should drink well for the next 20+ years.

2022 Rasa Vineyard ‘Veritas Sequitur Naravane Vineyard’ Syrah- The world-class 2022 ‘Veritas Sequitur’ comes from the Naravane Vineyard in the Walla Walla Rocks District. This beauty was given all whole cluster fermentation and was stored in all new French oak prior to bottling. Tar, Kalmatta olives, black rose petals and smoldering stones all mark the nose alongside hints of blood orange zest. The palate is fresh and seamless with amazing power and verve — yet comes off extremely weightless. Very stony and mineral-laden, with amazing stony, Nori and oyster sauce nuances, watch this evolve over the next ten plus years to come. Drink 2026-2036- 99 Owen Bargreen
